You Poem by Airelle Jenkins

You

You fly like an angel
You cry like the rain
Only to get through the pain
Your age getting older
Your heart growing colder
You never believed you could survive
After the death
You hoped to see a second chance
The chance you've never gotten
The chance you've always wanted
To let your heart be revived
You soar like a bird
Your cries left unheard
Your rage getting louder
Your pain growing faster
You never believed there was one last try
You can look up now
Your soul is headed towards the sky
You never left this world leaving a goodbye
You gave up with so much more ahead
You never understood
People missed you and were left in dread
You gave enough
For hope to come through
If you look far enough
There is someone
Waiting for you

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
August 2014 my grandfather passed away. I am 17 and I had lived with him since I was 11 months old. He was the only steady father figure I ever had and I don't know what I could have ever done without him in my life
