You Poem by Noel DeYoung

You

You say you're there
That you care
Let's discuss
When I open up
You retreat
When we meet
It's all surfacey
You're trying so hard
To be disinterested
Enough to be callous
That I feel rejected
I question my objectives
Did I do wrong?
Only, to find you interested
Holding back; scared
Not allowing
What you feel to abound
I hurt; with no course
Except to be free
Then, You astound me
Again and again
What torture this?
Why not a kiss?
What purpose? What cause?
I question this
Till, I let You go
Then, You reappear
And I let You in
Again and again
