Yesterday Poem by Cathryn Adeli

Yesterday

Rating: 5.0

Yesterday and yesterday, alone my brother lay.
No one, not me, not you, will ever know what's true.
The sea, the desert and frozen tundra
Have taken souls down under with out a sign or trace.
And this is such a place. that yesterday and yesterday
Alone my brother lay.

This wretchedness is mine, no answers can I find.
They say disease depresses bringing ill.
Dig deep, dig deep and find your will.
Wash and shave and be content.
Dig deep your grave so you may save
Your soul for evelasting torment.
Blow out your light that flickers bright, it might start a fire.
OK all right!
Alone my brother lay, yesterday.

Grandchildren will not play.
Nor see his smile so proud
Or pick him out of football crowds
Nor hear his love whisper.
He's gone. no longer here.

I struggled with my brother
Was I his keeper, i choose my druthers
Call me anytime, lil bro of mine
But not in a funk or even drunk
I haven't got the time.
I have my life to live
Oh that I could give
One giant hug to that sweet bear
I can not find anywhere, .
Alone he laid his life, yesterday.
