Yesterday Poem by Raeven Maclennan

Yesterday

back in the yesterday, I was dancing there,
With hands gripped tight and a jet black stare.
At the teary green eyes, and the flowing red hair,
My rage was my curse, and my childhood, my fear.

Fist in the wall, with a snarl on my lips,
Shock on his face, never seen this side of his friend,
The birth of my demons, from which my agony ripped,
For the end of a life, it only takes one slip.

like the boom of a mic, and my fist was the amp,
And the distortion was heavy, a sound I couldn't stand,
Angel of mercy, in the form of a gift,
When I started my journey, and my priorities shift.

Back in my yesterday, I was leaving her there,
With a smile on my lips, and a kindred green stare,
My lesson was learned, and my trials were left,
But from this lesson I learnt, trust was the target of theft.
