O LORD, give me an inexhaustible theme,
A theme I can celebrate,
A theme Sunny and resplendent
Something to thunderously wonder about
And keep me in a state of perpetual wonder reverent
A sudden avalanche of sparks awakens me,
The illumination blest prompts me to beseech:
"O Lord, don't dazzle me,
Order this light in cadences soft"
I crave vision magnificent and eloquence extravagant
The serenity to extol both eloquence and silence
And finally to accept the constitution of silence,
If it is inevitable, and yet preserve the blooming, ceremonial voice
