Within My Own Ghost Poem by G J Salgado

Within My Own Ghost

When you are alone in bed and tucked away tight,
I escape into your mind during the deep dark night.
First I take your dreams and make them mine,
Then I make them real and your existence you cannot find.
Stealing everything you are so that you can no longer feel,
Your life is mine for the taking and it is you that is unreal.
Buried away, locked in the closets, and in a jar,
I am the one that is willing to go that far.
Because all that I want is to be alive once more,
Now is that all too much for me to ask for?
