Your love is like a fire
that has lit my blackened path,
Before I met you I had grown tired
of waiting for life to end its wrath.

Right before we met
I had grown hopeful and optimistic,
even though my heart lay in debt
I had high hopes of finding the love I deserved
and was committed.

You have given me reason
to believe in what I was never shown,
That love could actually exist..
blossom, and continue to grow.

I had spent my life with my guard up
because the ones close to me had hurt me,
extinguishing the flames of my past
you dedicate yourself to show me that I am worth it.

I never thought I could find this love
let alone ever deserve it,
but you reassure my doubts
and become the main voice of reason.

You uplift my spirit and make me proud
to be myself,
while others devoted their time
to kick me when I was down.

Life is finally giving me the love
I need and deserve,
while lessening the unnecessary pain
I had always endured.

I could not imagine life without you
now that I feel complete,
with your love and you by my side
we can accomplish anything.
