Wishful Mistake Poem by Briana Johnson

Wishful Mistake

Be careful what you wish for
One day it may come true

Then I made my own mistake
And wished to fall for you

Deeper than a basin
Hotter than the sun

What I wished I got
And can not overcome

So I fell real hard for you
For once I was a kid

And so I kept on falling
Noticing you never did

Now my heart's in pieces
Rotting in the sun

Dryer than a raisin
Look at what I've done

How did I not see
The lie in your heart

Everyone saw
While I split apart

So now I'm still falling
Shattered through my core

Sucked of all love
And crying on the floor
