Wisdom In Stasis ('Martian Poetry' Style) Poem by Brother Jonathan Gardner

Wisdom In Stasis ('Martian Poetry' Style)

Invisible barriers of silica stand,
Between luminescence and me.
Nickel oxide and cobalt, too,
Bathe many carbon bundles in waves of blue.

In seated rows, some bend and touch their toes,
Confess their woes, and yet all the while,
The liquid slowly gathers at the base.
And some grimace, some frown, some sleep or smile.

A noise is heard when two hands are raised.
A story recounted. How odd?
The invisibile barrier a solid testimony,
To the Great Spirit incarnated as Carbon, the Man-God!

The carbon bundles move at last,
To cave upon cave, with electric trees of green.
In frenzied haste of excess, they consume.
But the liquid barrier is now rarely understood or seen.

Notes: The poem is a simple ABCB rhyme. Content-wise I'm experimenting with the style called 'martian poetry'. Martian poetry, through the use of curious and/or unusual visual and descriptive metaphors aims to break the grip of 'the familiar', by describing ordinary things in unfamiliar ways.

If I explain the poem, line by line, as I have done in other poems, it'll spoil the 'martian poetry' effect, so if interested, please email/contact me. For instance, what does it mean by 'two hands raised' in line 9? Is this praise, or the time and if time what time?
