Winter To Spring Poem by Vanessa Brown

Winter To Spring

Rating: 4.5

The rain clouds loom, the grey clouds consume
All happiness amongst mankind;
Encompassing and suffocating
Every pure light that they find.

Melancholic sigh piercingly whisper
Through a veil of unstoppable tears,
Leaving their imprints on the walk of my mind,
Awaking the most intimate fears.

But suddenly a brave sun peeps through the cloud
Inducing a soul lifting heat;
A gem of pure pleasure sparkles and shines -
Joy's tyrranic reign has no defeat.

Young lovers frolick in the pink setting sun,
Running barefoot through the park;
Tumbling and twirling in dew glistening grass,
Or gazing at stars in the dark.

He slowly, teasing plays with her hair,
And he tilts her head up towards his -
Breathlessly trembling with honest, pure love
As they embrace in an intimate kiss.

Though it grieves me to say this, joy may not last;
It's a treasured and beautiful thing;
But in the saddest of times, remember but this:
Your winter will soon melt to spring.
