Winter's Whisper Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Winter's Whisper

An anxious assist
has the decisive power
to transform mid-winter
into spring
with the flip
of a switch

The night is cold
and freezing
Clouds offer
no protection from
the formation of white
upon the ridge

Snowflakes form
and drift ever so softly
dusting the ground
before dawn...
A warming sun
slowly begins a thaw

Puddles form
small rivers evolve...
dissolving traces
of winter's whisper
Thoughts of building
a snowman evaporate
