Winter Harm Poem by sara winters

Winter Harm

Claws digging in to me
ripping open my skin
I'm ready to smile
and let you in
fangs covered in blood
come closer to my face
dark glassy eyes
blind to my taste
I'm ready to laugh
and be someone strong
hard cold hands graze my flesh
I feel the absence of comfort
cold sound hurts my ears
a voice not meant to be heard
I'll lie down and have you
a knowing laugh finds solace
in your willingness
icy water freezes in barren lakes
places where sound isn't heard
a crow hears and knows
but never lets on
we always have secrets
