Winter Poem by Emma Alberts

Winter

Rating: 4.0

Snow softly falling
To the ground
Where's the grass?
It can never be found

Trees without leaves
So blank, so bare
Ice, so slippery
Walk with care

Face biting frost
Lurking around
In the air
And on the ground

White wonderous beauty
Surrounding all around me
Animals always sleeping
Thinking of spring with glee

(Winter 2008, Age 11, Door County, Wisconsin)
