Would that be too impertinent?

Every smile and every laugh,
Could I ask for your comfort?
When the twilight has turned to dark?

Would you always be there?
To catch me in your arms
Would you be a faithful friend?
Would you promise to be here?

See, don’t you know I don't want diamonds?
Or classy golden rings
I just want a hand to hold
And a good excuse to bring

you the entire galaxy,
And all the glittering stardust within...
