Lillian P.k Poems

I wish I were a sailing boat
With a white canvas cloth,
Ready to sail the seven seas
Coming and going as I pleased,
...

It's my silent secret,
No one really knows,
Least of all me,
The stem where it grows
...

A balloon in my stomach,
sloshing in tangy goop.
Someone pressing on a
week old bruise,
...

After a long winter

The trees begin to sing
Their warm tenors springing to every frozen crevace
...

To that baby

You won't remember me when your'e old
But I will remember you because you brought me such grief
...

6.

I feel sad right now, three small letters
Inconspicuous, three small letters in a row
But they seem to hold all my depth of feeling these past months
Over you, and what you do to me when you cannot see
...

I know what they like to read
Pretty lines with pretty meanings
They put bows on death and ribbons on this life
They rejoice in leaves littering the floor and rosebuds sleeping, but they don't listen to wisdom
...

I had wanted a pen
And something lined to scribble on
I had felt my fingers reach out for a book
My aching head and nervous chattering teeth wanted something hard
...

One moment, almost a women
graceful, confident, poised
With lips soaked in cherries
and a tongue full of wit
...

I used to be obsessed with him,
He filled my mind.
I thought he was the
One,
...

I have blue-green eyes,
I have brown hair
I have freckles
But only you notice them there
...

12.

Life is not easy,
there is so much to learn

You think you have something down,
...

My words don't need to be classy
I don't need to elongate my vowels
I need nothing more than to sit here with you
To feel your love and power
...

At thirteen,
I was just beginning,
The real me coming through
But still I was hidden
...

I sit underneath the Cherry tree,
frozen;  me and time
Held spell bound by her blossoms,
and the sparrows all in a line
...

You are your own
No man keeps you

You are unknown
...

A silver spindle
Spindles into the night
Gold thread glittering
Out of sight
...

I am a solemn poet,
Of wise sayings do I speak,
I sit upon my stool each day
And think of things to think
...

No man is an island,
But a hermit they may be,
Hidden deep inside themselves
Preferring privacy
...

I Wish I Were A Sailing Boat

I wish I were a sailing boat
With a white canvas cloth,
Ready to sail the seven seas
Coming and going as I pleased,

I wish I were a sailing boat
At peace with the waves,
Learning the language of the fish
And earning Neptune's sweet kiss,

I wish I were a sailing boat
Guided by the twinkling stars,
Constantly comforted
By their friendship from afar,

I wish I were a sailing boat
Corresponding with the whales,
Talking to the dolphins
And persuading the gail,

To hasten for a moment yet
And to be still for just awhile,
So that I may enjoy the ocean's breeze
And see the sun's sunny smile
