Why We March Poem by Steven Rodgers

Why We March

When I peer into your eyes
I search for deeper meaning.
I search the reason I should give
Myself, my soul, my being.
And as I peer the trouble is
I see much more than you.
I see the whole of our world
And I see what I would do.

It scares me to consider
That I would do so much.
Maybe I am losing it
And falling out of touch.
I want give you more than me
Though me you'll get as well.
I Want a world to offer you
Where hopes and loves will swell.

So I am going to use my strengths
And help the world along.
I am going to use your love
For with it I am strong.
I do not know exactly how
I plan to fix our woes.
All I know is god please help
Any who dispose.
Of common love and greater good
While I seek my end.
For you I will shake the earth
My fortitude won't bend.
