Why I'M Cold Poem by Travis Johnson

Why I'M Cold

Rating: 5.0

People say I’m cold
Cause here feelins aint felt
If there’s something needs to be done
Better do it your damn self
I’m not actin any way
Jus bein myself
And I be damned if anybody
Wants me to change the actions that I dealt
Here is the truth
I had to depend on my own
Maybe that’s the reason
They say I’m so cold
And if there’s a problem
You don’t want to come to me
I’ll tell you to tell someone who cares
And that’s the nicest I’m gonna be
I’m not a consoler to none
And friends aint nothing to me
Maybe you can see
Why cold is the only company I keep
And I smile at anybody
That thinks they’re a threat to me
I’ve been called everything in the book
And I learned everything from the streets
So be careful what you write
Cause some I don’t even read
I look at the topic
Then laugh and press delete

I like that you wrote your words as they would be spoke. It adds to the piece. I also enjoyed reading a poem of unbiased apathy. It goes against the grain of everything percieved as 'right'. The fact that you give no excuse, makes it even better. I think we all feel this way sometimes. We just won't admit it. Brilliant!
