WHY DO I NEED TO WRITE SOMETHING?

Why do I need to write something?
Why does this mean so much to me?
For years I have written
Without much result
Why haven't I given up by now?
Why haven't I been silenced in understanding
My work is not much to others?
Why do I need to write something still?
So much has been written
I repeat myself
Even these words are a repetition.

Why do I need to live?
One day I will not
For now I write
This is my life
This is what I have given it too
Not good enough it may well be
But it is what I have and what I am-

I write now
As if in these very lines
I am realizing
The dream of a lifetime.
