Who Said Poem by Tim Vallie

Who Said

Rating: 5.0

Who said that I have to stick to your script
Who said that I can't write my own
Who said that my corpse will lie in your crypt
Who said that I won't leave my name in stone
Who said that I have to play by your rules
Who said that I am not a king
Who said that I have to be your damned fool
Who said that I can't do my own thing

I say I am the writer of my own script
I say that I am my own man
I say I am the builder my own crypt
I say that on my own I stand
I say that this life is my life
I say how I live it is my choice
I say it will be filled with it's own strife
I say that my words will come from my voice

Now go and leave me here to live
Now go and leave me here to die
Now go I don't want the choices you give
Now go and watch me rise into the sky
Now go I don't need your voice in my head
Now go I don't need you in my mind
Now go I have many paths to tread
Now go but please just bear in mind

That I am now my own free man
That on my own two feet I stand
That I am now the maker of my own plan
That I am now the master of my own hand
That I am now the writer of my play
That I am now director of my show
That I decide how to live all my days
That I decide where my path must go
That I am the master of my destiny
That I am the writer of my script
That I am the maker of my legacy
That I am the builder of my crypt

Man is the unique creation of God endowed with consciousness! Supremacy of man is nicely discussed here. Great work :)
