Who Kills Prophets Of Peace? Poem by Terence George Craddock

Who Kills Prophets Of Peace?

Rating: 5.0

is it true do a power corrupt elite
really kill the prophets of peace
does rabid hate kill peace makers

across a few cases in time
we may prove promoting
peace cause non violence is

dangerous creates enemies
devious envious murderous
death violence with wings waits

Jesus Christ promoted peace
love kindness forgiveness
flogged executed on a cross...

Mahatma Gandhi promoted
tolerance freedom civil rights
employed nonviolent resistance

favoured emancipation of women
urged women's self-development
opposed class structure exploitation

opposed untouchable segregation
Gandhi believed in peace nonviolence
shot three times in the chest murdered...

Martin Luther King inspired
by Christian beliefs promoted
civil rights nonviolent resistance

through civil disobedience
lead public peace marches
gave 'I Have a Dream' speech

'We hold these truths to be self-evident:
that all men are created equal.'
equality has a timeless vitality

apparently a scary conception
in once segregated racial America
Martin was shot by a sniper

killed assassinated for dreams
of racial civil rights equality
peace makers inspire in legacy...

great peace makers are killed
by authority fact not conspiracy
a hate divide conquer mentality

why fear peaceful peace makers
greater profits are in inequality
chaos crime not a fair wage payoff...

A great poem that I hope becomes Poem of the Day. It is evil that kills peace as if peace became global in every heart and home, evil will have nowhere to live

It is often dangerous to write about both politics, war and peacemakers; some people are indifferent to these topics, others hold passionate views so it is a tightrope walk. All 3 men I have written on before,2 in the poem 'The Colour Bar' back in 2010.

the interesting commonality is all three spoke a common theme, we can choose to be part of the problem or part of the solution, simply by the way we live our lives and interact applying personal values we esteem
