Who Could Want Any More? Poem by Paul Reed

Who Could Want Any More?

"With this small house, this garden large,
This little gold, this lovely mate,
With health in body, peace in heart-
Show me a man more great."
[By William Henry Davies from ‘Truly Great']

A safe haven
A solid front door,
A place to hide away
Who could want any more?

A leafy garden
To rest and explore,
Birdsong and sunshine
Who could want any more?

A little money
Not riches galore,
Just enough to get by on
Who could want any more?

To feel good each morning
With health at your core,
A spring in your step
Who could want any more?

A mind that is settled
With peace to the fore
Not anxious, not fearful
Who could want any more?

A true love beside you
With their devotion swore,
A faithful companion
Who could want any more?
