Who Called? Poem by Ima Ryma

Who Called?

Rating: 2.8

It rang twice. She answered the phone.
Someone asked her, 'What's your name? '
The voice sounded sad and alone.
She hung up, thinking it a game.
It rang again. She answered slow.
An operator asked her who
Had called her just moments ago.
She said she didn't have a clue.
The operator said, 'That's fine.'
But, there was something strange about
A call coming from a dead line.
Repairmen went to check it out.

They found the line where it was downed.
Beneath the cemetery ground.
