Mirror eyes
looking into mirrors:
souls scrutinising souls;
searching for their own soul
in a multitude of souls…
Who are you in solitude?
Have you caught a glimpse of your self,
looking into the eyes of others?
Have they found themselves in your eyes?
Strangers…strangers to you;
strangers to themselves…
Who are you when there are no mirrors?
Without your eyes,
I cannot see myself!
You have distanced your self from my self;
so, I have distanced myself from my self:
you are a stranger to me,
and I am a stranger to my self…
Who am I without your eyes? …
Without your eyes, I cannot see myself! you have distanced your self from my self; so, I have distanced myself from my self: you are a stranger to me, and I am a stranger to myself... Who am I without your eyes? ... so touching and impressive. A great philosophical poem nicely executed. Thanks for sharing.
Nicely articulated insightful poem with philosophical undertones. Thanks for sharing. you have distanced your self from my self; so, I have distanced myself from my self:
Outstanding! ! ! ! Without real mirror it will be difficult to see how we look but through someone's eye we may judge how do our soul look like to him. Real introspection is not just self assessment but also peer review, partner- review and friend- review....A thoughtful poem wisely written MP, Loved it.10+++
