Who Am I? Poem by sahal yawar

Who Am I?

There was a time
I used to love you
There was a time
I used to smile
For you had made me much beguiled

Like all the lovers I
I wished to meet you
Like all the lovers
I made a plan
To come to you and say to you
O! My sweetheart, I love you

So I embarked on my journey
For my heart wished to reveal its love

The moon was glittering and the stars were scattered
And the planks of my fate were very shattered
I knocked at the door of your mansion
A voice came from behind the door
‘Who is there and who are you? '
And you and I got departed
For I had no reply for you

This night is the darkest of my life
For the moon is missing and missing is the glee
For till this day I hadn't find
An answer for that question of thee

In the darkest hour of this fortnight
You aren't here to make me smile
You aren't here to make me free

I once heard that in the heaven
Named after you there is a tree
Your absence has made me much senile
For I've forgot the way to smile

To heaven so I want to flee
To sit on a branch of that one tree

And think and think and think
That who am I and why I love you
That who am I and who are we

Who Am I?
