White Light Poem by Victoria Gauci

White Light

Rating: 5.0

I awoke one day and you were not there,
And tears came down like rain,
I closed my eyes for a night of sleep,
To awake with remaining pain,

God took my mother after my father,
And my world was torn apart,
I never imagine losing them both,
It's been devastating to my heart,

My Dad was a man who loved so many,
And many more loved him so,
My Mother was rare and so unique,
A beauty as grand as the snow,

Although my Dad wasn't around,
Through the years of my childhood,
There was a time when we came together,
And everything became understood,

My Mother was there every step of the way,
And she taught me all that she knew,
She is the voice inside my head,
Her wisdoms have helped me get through,

The Loss of someone close to us,
Can make life seem like a battle,
But I keep them near and dear to my heart,
I never fail to get back in the saddle,

I awoke one day and I was alone,
My parents both gone from the Earth,
Time makes it easy to continue on,
To get through the unbearable hurt,

As sure as I know who I am inside,
I know that I will see them once more,
Heaven and Earth are truly connected,
By a white light and golden door.
