White Lies Poem by Lana Karina

White Lies

Behind the rows of crooked teeth
My mouth is full of secrets -
Caught up in my braces,
Tucked into the pouch of my cheek,
Slipped under my tongue like candy.
These small untruths
Which develop, like Polaroids, into a bigger picture
Are not meant to hurt.
Instead they are my way of saying
'I love you, and
because you are important
I cannot tell you the truth.'

simple and beautiful lies for the sake of love! I have heard a lot, but seldom said!
