Whispering Waves

Should I rather be the gentle wave that hums
a melody with the night wind's serenade
resounding across the waters and bringing me
to the shore to wrap it with my embrace?
Or should I be the sparkling froth upon the foam
that bathes with the kisses of the breeze
dreaming of the next full moon, longing to worship
the bewitching smile on its pale face?

Shall I sip the dewdrops on your lips while
dolphins mirthfully dance to the vespers of the
humpback whales that cross the continents
to listen to the soulful longing of your lullaby?
Or shall I drown with the soft moans of the wind
that echoes your name to the starry skies
not wanting to wake up from the enchanting rhythm
of the tender pounding of our hearts?

[My life is] as ephemeral as the sand on the shore
that frolicked in an evening of eternity,
but washed away in the morning only as
a passing memory of the joy of a summer night;
Yet my spirit lingers on to forever dwell in the
unfathomable depth of your sweet caress,
Gently soothing the scars of my soul and
I am emptied of what I thought I was before.
