While You Were Not Sleeping Poem by Leanna Page Markgraf

While You Were Not Sleeping

You thought I was foolish
and that I had no clue.
I have been through this before
Ijust never thought it would be with you.

I am never satisfying enough
or never the best.
I am probably not prettier
than all the rest.

Why cannot you be faithful?
Why do you break my fragile heart?
Just the same as everyone else,
always looking for something to start.

You kissed her lips
as you touched her face.
Left me all alone.
Do you feel any disgrace?

You thought I was foolish
like I did not have a clue.
But when you were not sleeping,
I was always watching you.
