While You'Re Sleeping Poem by Colin Coplin

While You'Re Sleeping

Rating: 4.0

While you’re sleeping, I’ll whisper softly in your ear
And tell you about a foolish thing I did, when you weren’t here last year

I was lonely and you were so far away
It was cold and bitter that early May
She stopped by, just to say hello
And stayed the night to keep me warm

You haven’t woken so I’ll tell you more
Lately, I still think of her
How she moved me, how she kissed my lips
How she gave me her very special gift

I was lonely and you were so far away
It was cold and bitter that early May
She stopped by, just to say hello
And stayed the night to keep me warm

My eyes never lied, I betrayed our love
My eyes never lied, yes I still think of her
How she moved me, how she kissed my lips
How she gave me her very special gift

While you’re sleeping, I’ll whisper softly in your ear
And tell you about a foolish thing I did, when you weren’t her last year

I was lonely and you were so far away
It was cold and bitter that early May
She stopped by, just to say hello
And stayed the night to keep me warm
