Where's My Mini Me Poem by Nicola Kelly

Where's My Mini Me

Where's my mini me

It wasn't a conscious decision,
It just crept up on her,
She wanted to find someone to love,
To have a child with and care.

With each relationship there was hope,
A life with whom to share,
And live together and to become,
Parents and the potential was there.

From a broken home she knew,
The pressures for a single mother,
And a sacrifice she made to find,
A soul mate not a sperm donor.

But life has no plan and,
Each relationship did not work out,
She wished two had become three,
Possibility of motherhood she began to doubt.

The assumption was made I was ok,
Without a child of my own,
To love in my way and,
Nurture as together we'd have grown.

I shed a tear for the loss,
Of a possibility of the child,
I feel I'm too old to bear,
Now you know I really did care.
