When Your Love Comes Down Poem by Joe Garson

When Your Love Comes Down

You know I don't understand it
Guess that's the way it should be
When your love comes down
And turns you around
And sets your spirit free

I was working in a bar
In West LA
Dreaming of being a star
Thought I was on my way
That's when she walked right up to me
And she started to smile
She said she thought that she knew me
But it had been a long while

We started making some small talk
Seems we had met once before
Think it was under the boardwalk
Just east of Baltimore
It was the summer of summers
We both had nothing to lose
She fell in love with the drummer
And then she gave me the news

No I don't understand it
Guess that's the way it should be
When your love comes down
And turns you around
Ans sets your spirit free
