When You Write Your Holiday Greetings Poem by ART PAUL SCHLOSSER

When You Write Your Holiday Greetings

When you write your holiday greetings
And you go to parties and Christmas meetings
And you eat all the treats, the candy, cakes at all the eatings
Don't forget
The homeless vet
The prisoner in jail
Your lonely hearted single friend Gail or Dale
Or whoever needs to barrow your shovel and pail

I mean you may like to have a drink at a bar
Or go to a concert and meet a rock n roll star
Travel to glorious places near and far
But there are some
Who can't afford to have that fun
Some people say they are bums
But Jesus says helping them
You are helping him

So sky rocket to the moon with Santa Claus
Kiss the prettiest girl and your in-laws
Have turkey, trimmings, pies and cranberry coleslaw
But don't turn away
Someone dark or gray
Who's car is stuck
And they need a buck
For the tow truck
