When You Sidestep The Truth Poem by Dorsey Baker

When You Sidestep The Truth

Breast feeding them
Beating around the bush
You let them hide
Behind the illusion
Disguise their fear
Mask their deepest emotion
Just a riddle and a rhyme
Breakfast
And a snack
At the same time
Truth left in a dungeon dark
You justify by
The wink of your eye
Your illusions work so well
And they don't seem to
Tell a lie
