When You Are Not With Me Poem by Roman Nikolaev

When You Are Not With Me

When you are not with me (if
sometimes you are) ,
I paint
you name with the petals of roses of spring
I draw
your smile with what I have imagined of dreams
I carve
your figure of air that fills my room

When you are not with me (if
sometimes you try)
I do not hide to have stolen the moon
For its glow reminds me the one of your smiles

I take the bus that goes far in the rain
And search for you till the dawn cries your name

I cross the road of time,
grasp its dry hands
Which long to struggle for someone’s embrace
and someone’s amaze

When you are not with me (if
your wrong is right)
I do not close my eyes in solitude
I start to fight
with the patience to win
I beg you come back

to the weeping willow of the Lovers Eden…
