When this runs itself out
And we can step out
Once again without a mask
What would it be like
To feel the sun again
On our face and skin
Would we still complain
Of the hot weather
The traffic and long wait
At the downtown signal
Would we not look fondly
At all the open shops
As if they were all our own
Stop at a wayside stall
To drink tea again with sugar
Savoring every sip like some soma
Just glad to be alive, just glad
To stop and watch the world
Roaring back to life.
