When Silent Nights Poem by Victoria Udnæs

When Silent Nights

Rating: 4.0

When silent nights
creep over fields
and snow with frost
are coldest shields
I'll find myself again
in distant here and now
my friend.

So long all since I saw your smile
the time has passed
it's been a while!
my memories of you
are in my archetypal style.

So, as I wander on these fields
with heavy frost and whitest shields
and think about the time that's passed
in retrospect: now covered glass
our friendship that so couldn't last
I stand there with a smile:

For what we did, and what we had
was life, and now it makes me glad
to know that all our memories
are shared, and that we wear them
on a thread with pearls and gems
like two best friends
now in past tense
that cared.

Nicely said all that you wanted to. Enjoyed reading it. I know a lot more from you there will be to read. You have spoken about frost and snow very effectively.
