When I Wake Poem by Adam Thoms

When I Wake

When I wake up
The last thing on my mind is make up

But I am not a girl
With enough pressure to make anyone hurl.

When she makes up
The first thing on her mind is make up
Not to mention her latest break up
Over something someone made up.

She is a girl
With enough pressure to make anyone hurl
She's not to blame
Blame the game

My mind's made up
By the time I pull the shade up
To let the sun in a bring the grade up
I spent more than enough time laid up.

So you say following through
Is one of the hardest things to do
Well look at it this way: the stakes are you.
You are the stakes
And that's the breaks.

So, next time someone says:
'Hey guy, you wanna get high, or just sit around the cry 'til you die.'
Or someone else says:
'Hey girl, what's the whirl, you better go and hurl, then give me a twirl.'
Think of someone shouting:
'Hey there, why do you live like you don't care
I see you somewhere I swear.
That's a dare to
Follow through
With what you're meant to.
From me to you'

The best time to start's:
When you wake up
Is the best time to set the stakes up
When you wake up
Is the best time for some make up.
