When I Cry... Poem by Silent Death

when i cry i see your face
i see you there and cry even more
you wish to wipe my tears away
but when you try i push you back
you beg and plead and yell and scream
i just sit and stare at the carpet
you try to get me to laugh
but i only cry harder

when i cry i hear your voice
i hear you speak softly in my ear
you say it will be just fine
that in the end all will be done
you whisper to me the promises of life
yet i cover my ears and will not listen

when i cry you take my hands in yours
you smile at me and speak of good times
i try to pull away but find i have no strength to fight
you lift up my hands and i struggle to stand

when i cry you lift me up
you take me in your arms and will not let go
i fight against the strength of you arms
but you hold me tight against your chest
you hold me close but do not try to harm me
i swear and cuss and scream and cry more
but letting me go is something that has not been done before
you gave me the promise of love, of happiness of forever
but hurt, pain, death and loss is all ive known
all you have shown me is not what had been known
you have shown me that life may disappoint
but love will never create a void

when i cry i know that you care
i have seen that you love true and whole
but you have yet to show me that you feel any anger
i do not know if that is good or bad
i do not wish to make you hate me ever
but if that day comes please know this one thing:

WHEN I CRY ALL I THINK ABOUT IS THE HOPE YOU GAVE ME

all i can say is that you showed me what life means
you showed me how to live after all of the pain
and you have given me the reason to live for another day
