When I Am Gone Poem by Hesbon Nyamweya

When I Am Gone

When my withered body approach the demise gate......
And my health battles to a moribund state.....
When my last life and breath i await....
Kiss me on the forehead for my soul to elate....
And in your arms cuddle me as i face my fate....
For a sad man i dont wanna be when i'm gone.

When my faint eyes could not open again.....
And death chills runs deep in my vein......
Dont despair or start living in pain.....
Wipe my wan-face with your tears then.....
Be positive and your strength dont wane...
Coz i'll still be with you when i am gone.

When my embalmed body is due to be laid....
Spray my corpse and style my hair in pomade....
When mourning and death miasma fade....
And my last respect has been fully paid....
Entomb me amidst the departed in a green glade...
Coz i dont want to be alone when i am gone.

Dont let my interment service exudes a sombre mood...
My eulogy should be truth and exaggeration elude....
A cortege in white sepulchral garb include....
Let my headstone be adorned in bronze plaque.....
And my epitaph sculpt 'HE STILL LIVES' mark.....
For long i wanna be remembered when i am gone.

Find happiness and move on when i am gone........
Console and confirm to my peole they arent alone......
Reminisce about me and keep pressiong on......
In your heart my legnd keep and our love build a home.......
For as soon as the sun rise so will we meet again.....
Find peace, be happy when i am gone.END
