When First We Two Met Poem by Samya Bose

When First We Two Met

I boarded the train of memory
To reach the station I sought,
Taken to the heavenly glory,
That made me lost in thought.
Thought of my darling past,
When first we two met;
All at once, a refreshing gust
Caressed my soul and beset.

The time was generous
In offering me moments
Of passion, so luminous,
Could ignite the elements.
Vast expanse of green
Under the ruddy twilight sky,
Offered a heavenly scene,
Feeding the lover's eye.

My heart was burdened
With loads of anxiety,
But came to a dead end
At the deepest lake of beauty.
Your eyes - unfathomably deep
On the fairest landscape ever,
Into which, my soul I did dip,
To wash away doubts forever.

Sitting on the cosy bed
Of doddering fallen leaves,
We drank every bit of red
To greet the brightest of eves.
I gazed at your moonlit face
Blotting the milky gleam,
Offering a magical solace
To anything dim and grim.

Words I lost in crowd of vision,
Thoughts kept waving in mind,
Forgot any mundane precision
As my crude senses declined.
Then came the very moment,
When first our lips met,
Sharing notes of sacrament
To ever last, never let.

Your fragrance invaded my senses
And touch pampered my desire,
Committed delectable kisses
Set my heart on fire.
You seemed a celestial princess
Befitting the moonlit panorama,
The image still feeds my senses,
And your touch, taste, and aroma.
