When

When the Head is squeamish, the Body languishes,
When the Eye is frail, the Vision enervates,
When the Hand is shaky, the Guidance wobbles,
When the Leg is languid, the Journey sickens,
When the Heart is tender, the Soul writhes.

When biting Boreas, fell and doure,
Sharp shivers thro' the leafless bow'r;
When Phoebus gies a short-liv'd glow'r,
