What You See (Isn'T The Beauty That's Inside Of Me) Poem by Talile Ali

What You See (Isn'T The Beauty That's Inside Of Me)

Eye candy and just some fantasy to tease
Titillate the place that you wanted to please
But you don't even know who or what I am
You only know you like what you see of this man

There's a saying that goes sorta like this
'You can't judge a book by it's cover' young miss
But you really don't care about the words or the mind
All you are thinking about is how I look from behind

Why have we become so shallow and unaware
Of what is in a person, or do you even care
Ha Ha! I guess I am really just wastin my time
All you wanna do is have that bump and that grind

What you see isn't the beauty that's inside of me
That lust inside of you is just a mission of need
It blinds you to the person that I am that's a fact
That's why you find some reason to be on the attack

I am a loving, caring, sharing, giving human of sorts
I am not just a sex toy to be ogled just for sport
I hope that you will finally come to terms and understand
inside of all this beauty is a sensitive caring man

So stop ogling my pictures and drooling over how good I look
Stop making proposals that will make me feel like some sorta crook
Treat me like a person with a heart and a soul
And stop looking at me like I am a perfect fit for your hole

I am a human being
I am a caring soul
I am a lover of life
This is who you should want to know

I'm Not just my pretty face for your hot cot
I'm Not an image to put into your fantasies a lot
So, if you are willing to take a crack at just being a good friend
Put these fantasies to rest and we can both make amends
