What You Dont See Poem by Kelsi Brockway

What You Dont See

When you look at me
I can steadily stare in your eyes.
When you walk with her
I can come up and say hi,
but what you don't see
is how much pain it causes me.
When i sit alone in my room
You drift into my head
And the tears come steadily streaming
Leaving streaks of salt, that burn and sting
Sticks and stones may break my bones....
Bones heal...
but your words will always haunt me.
You said i just wasn't lovable
I have to many sharp edges
I'm broken goods
I just wasn't good enough...
Even after these harsh words
My heart still goes crazy when I see you
I shouldn't care....
Yet i do.
