What We Miss Poem by Vaughn Bekker

Early in the morning the sun slowly up does creep
All in the meanwhile we just seem to sleep
All the little birds sit and their songs they chirp
While off to work quickly our coffee we slurp
Outside waits a happy dog to wish us a happy day
Frustrated and in a rush we push him out the way
Driving off to work we miss all the flowers in bloom
Cursing all this traffic, hoping we will get through soon
As we go through the day we miss the gentle breeze
We just seem to busy, the boss we trying to please
And as the sun shines for us at its highest spot
All we complain about is that it is too bloody hot
The sun starts to set and makes way for the moon
Tired and in a rush we want to get home soon
The stars shine high with a twinkle in their eye
We sit back on our chairs with a moan and a sigh
As the moon creeps up right to the top
On our beds we just seem to flop
From a colourful sunrise that eye does please
To the swaying of the branches in the gentle breeze
From all the busy birds that seem to pass us by
Or that lonely cloud fluffy in the sky
Stop and take notice, it`s absolute bliss
So many amazing things, all that we miss
