Summer Storm Poem by Vaughn Bekker

Summer Storm

Searing heat, the land you fry
Unquenched thirst, you suck it dry
Your belly rumbles, consuming space
More intensely, quickening your pace

Swelling clouds, the sky they`ve filled
Your darkened mood starts to build
Your breath now blows at gale pace
The clouds now dark as you change your face

SILENCE.........as if to wait
Luring them in towards your bait

Blinding light, deafening sound
You throw your wrath upon the ground
With sudden fury you start to shout
Open lunges you spit it out

Fireworks dancing through the night sky
Raindrops pouring as if you cry
Giving back all that you took
Your loud voice the earth it shook

But soon your mood it starts to simmer
Your light display has gotten dimmer
Quiet now as if you have fallen asleep
Emerging creatures from hiding peep

Rest now my beautiful summer storm
Patiently wait for an emerging dawn
Where once again you will entertain
Parched lands, you`ll give them rain
