What We Both Did Poem by RIC BASTASA

What We Both Did

Rating: 5.0

he thinks that he is bright
and so he did what he did
i think that i am much brighter
so i did what i did
we did not really like each other
and we detest what each one thinks
and so we continue doing what we
think should be done about ourselves
and about the world as no one wants
to be outdone in this hubris about
who is brighter and who shines the most
and so at the end we ended burning
each other in the conflagration of
pride and prejudices but the world
which remains to be in the here, now
and forever did not really mind
just like the sun and the moon which
in time still remain to be shinier
to the same space and boundless skies....
