What are you?
Is the question people ask me, when they see me.
What are you?
Is something the race of people have to deal with everyday.
Is there even a Race?
Is there black, whites, asians, hispanics, Mexicans and even Africans?
Does it even exist when we are put in a category?
That we will be judged by the color of our skin.
That people hate us for no reason at all.
We are just a number on a spreadsheet
The government doesn't care about us.
If they did, Why are mostly colored people in Jail?
If they did where are all the Immigrants rights?
If they did why do people treat each other differently?
Why is there a statue of liberty?
If you're not giving us the liberty to stay here and be treated equally
How can son's and mother's watch the sunset.
Knowing that her son won't be set.
Knowing that sons and daughters
Will be judge on the color of their skin.
Scared that these kids won't be able to live long enough
To go to college or to really start living their life.
We are a country,
A Nation
We are humans
We all are the same
We fought wars together.
We are a Family of different cultures
Not a perfect family tho
But heck what family is
We are…..
Friends,
Family,
Cousins,
Mothers,
Fathers,
Sisters,
And
Brothers
We are Family
Not a Race
But A Family with a tough life
And Full of problems
Any Questions?
What we all are are human relatives connected to the first humans. Otherwise, we woud not be human. With time our skin colour changed with climate. Invented differences exist because they are man-made. Great poem. +++10

We are a Family of different cultures Not a perfect family tho.. a very great poem in the present context...... why do we try to put down and look down up on human beings, in colour, creed, language and culture...... after all we are all created by the same God. thank u dear poetess. tony
