What The Toad Told The Snake Poem by Tony Adah

What The Toad Told The Snake

When you gave the fruit of deceit
To man I wasn't there
Or is my ancestry linked to it
Each time you're hungry
It is your way to my house.

I am not afraid of you
I am not like human beings
Who will jump at your sight
You slither and I hop!
You venom of hate
And my slime of protection
Are two thing not mixable.

If you're serious about this duel
Let's take it to the roadside
And you will see what the umpires
Will do to you.
