What Shall I Do On Christmas Day? Poem by Dr John Celes

What Shall I Do On Christmas Day?

What shall I do with just pennies ten,
On Christmas Day to celebrate?
Oh, I can't buy a star alit,
That tells the world that special date!

What shall I do with just pennies ten,
It cannot buy a Christmas cake!
Nor can it buy a Christmas card,
But I must spend it for Christ's sake!

What shall I do with just pennies ten,
It cannot buy me a newer dress;
Nor can it fetch a Christmas tree
That's decorated with largesse!

What shall I do with just pennies ten,
The money's too little to spend;
Oh, let me give a beggar alms,
And hear him thank the Lord new born!
