What Is It With Love Poem by Peter S. Quinn

What Is It With Love

Love is everything there is
A beautiful morning going by
Yellow red dawn at its bliss
Early hour of the bluish sky
A heart could go on forever
With all feelings clearly open
Some words that are said clever
Taken away with love's eloping
What is it that holds me to you?
Undecided where futures will lie
Our destiny opens without a due
Only we two as times go by

What is it from the blue?
That comes and gets me free
Lost in its soft flowing dune
When I unlocked its key
Comes and goes to fulfill
Beautiful, and yet it will blight
Chains its awareness in me
Senses and inside sprite
I'm not with wings to fly about
My heart - feelings - to find
All about tempest of my muse
Love and its ways all twined

Love is everything there is
A night that is passing here on
Something to long for and wish
Till their moments are gone
Bring me my hope back inside
I just have dreams to give
Darkish in stars night will hide
What you can't fulfill and live
Hope comes again in morning
Just before I wake up to be
For love is to cope or a yearning
Give what you must nothing's for free

Refrain
What is it from the blue?
That comes and gets me free
Lost in its soft flowing dune
When I unlocked its key...

What is it with love?
